Title:In-House Audio Visual (AV) Technician
Salary Range:$12.00-17.00 per hour


  1. Attitude
  • Maintain a positive attitude while on the job.  Be the example for others to follow.  Represent Immedia to other trades and clients when on job sites.
  • Maintain and foster effective working relationships with the project managers, technicians, warehouse and other office staff through clear and effective communication, independent thinking and pro-active problem solving.  Be solution-oriented.
  • Customer communications: refer all change order and money related discussions to PM; keep all conversations positive and have Immedia’s best interest in mind.
  1. General Responsibilites
  • Populate all racks
    • As soon as any rack is received, WA will stage racks in warehouse and begin populating racks with equipment, as the equipment arrives.
    • WA to notify PM when a rack has been populated and rack will then be moved into the rack build room for a technician to begin working on it.
  • Re-fill yellow hot-swap bins for technicians
  • Bench testing
    • All displays - verify screen is not damaged
    • All projectors - attach lens (when applicable) and verify functionality
    • All microphones
    • Assist with new product evaluations
  • Firmware updating
    • All Crestron & Extron components (switches, processors, extenders, etc)
    • All video wall processors
    • All Biamp, ClearOne, and any other DSP components
    • All Shure microphones
  • Courier/delivery guy
    • Last minute/urgent requests to bring parts out to the field
    • Any equipment needing to be picked up from distribution or local facilities
    • Equipment deliveries to job sites
    • Shuttling equipment to/from offsite storage
  • Installation assistant
    • Extra set of hands when field techs need assistance (hanging displays, clean up/trash out, pulling cable, unboxing equipment (sound masking), etc
  • Warehouse assistant
    • General warehouse cleanup/organizing
    • Weekly inventory of all stocked parts
  1. Administrative
  • Complete time entries daily.
  1. Job Requirements
    • Achieve CTS certification within 6 months of employment.
    • Minimum 2 years’ experience in related field
    • Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. 
    • Ability to interpret a variety of instructions given in written, oral or schedule form.
    • Ability to communicate effectively verbally and in written form.
    • Ability to work a minimum of 40 hours per week, with overtime required for specific projects.
    • Physical Requirements:
      • Sitting, standing, stooping and bending for long or extended periods of time.
      • Dexterity of hands and fingers to operate a computer keyboard, mouse, power tools and to handle other office equipment.
      • Ability to lift and transport moderately heavy equipment (up to 100 pounds).
      • Ability to climb ladder, scaffolding or transported by lifts.
      • Ability to drive/operate a vehicle.
      • Although most work is performed inside, occasional outside activities daily/weekly/monthly may occur for short periods of time in a seasonal temperature-fluctuating environment.
